Bob joined Hansen, Barnett & Maxwell, P.C. in 1973 and has over 35 years of experience in public accounting. Bob was admitted as a shareholder in the firm in January 1980. Bob has extensive experience working with many companies in a wide variety of industries providing both audit and tax services. Bob became the managing partner of the firm in July of 2009.  He has served in the past as the director of the firm’s audit department and the director of the firm’s quality control.  Bob is the concurring reviewer on several financial reporting clients for the firm and serves as the engagement partner on audits of many public and private clients, including audits of financial statements that have been included in numerous registration statements and private placement offerings.

Bob graduated from the University of Utah in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. Bob is licensed as a certified public accountant in several states, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.  He has served on several committees and task forces for both organizations and currently is a member of the Peer Review Board of the AICPA.  He also served for 8 years on the Utah State Board of Accountancy and was the Chair of that board for 3 years.

Bob has been a member of numerous "peer review" teams, many of which he served as team captain, which were organized by the AICPA to review the accounting and auditing practices of other CPA firms. As a reviewer, Bob has the opportunity of seeing many approaches to auditing and industries and avails this knowledge to our firm.

Bob holds the Certificate of Education Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing, which is a specialty designation given only by the AICPA after exhaustive education and testing procedures.
