Michael F. Michelsen
Michael Michelsen is an audit principal with fourteen years of experience in public accounting. He has experience in working with many companies in a wide variety of industries, with emphasis in governmental and not-for-profit entities.
Michael has wide-ranging experience conducting audits under Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) and the Single Audit Act (OMB Circular A-133).
Michael serves as a member of the UACPA’s State and Local Government Task Force, which included a three year term as the Task Force’s chair. This task force provides continuing education for the state’s CPAs, and discusses current developments in governmental accounting. Michael presented a session relating to Circular A-133 audits at the 2007 update.
Michael graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 with a Master of Accountancy degree with an emphasis in professional accounting. At the same time, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA).
