Almost 50 years ago, J. Keith Hansen, Keith F. Barnett and Paul J. Maxwell merged their practices to form the firm Hansen, Barnett & Maxwell P.C. The founding partners have all retired from ownership and the firm is now successfully in its second generation and currently making the transition to a third generation of ownership. We believe this shows a sense of stability and reliability to our present and prospective clients and employees.

Substantially all growth has been of an internal nature and is expected to continue as such in the future. We desire to retain our identity as a regional CPA firm in Salt Lake City, Utah with the ability to service clients throughout the world. We will maintain a foundation of developing a personal relationship with our clients.

We have become a premier regional certified public accounting firm with headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah distinguishing our self by providing a full range of assurance, tax, client accounting and consulting services. Our partners and staff possess specific expertise in each of these services. This means all of your business management needs can be serviced by a single firm. Many of our current clients have been with us since the Firm was formed, and we have grown to meet their expanding management needs.

We are uncompromising on quality, maintaining a high level of quality control throughout the Firm. As a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA, our non-public clients are subject to the profession's program of self-regulation through Peer Review. Our accounting and auditing/assurance practice has been subjected to a Peer Review by other CPA Firms on eight occasions. These Peer Reviews are conducted once every three years. We perform internal inspections/reviews in the interim two years. We are proud to have received an unqualified opinion (a report with no qualifications) as a result of each of those eight Peer Reviews. Our latest Peer Review was completed in November 2011. We believe this helps to create an environment of quality and professionalism to ensure you receive the best service possible.

We are also registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). The Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires firms auditing less than 100 issuers to have PCAOB led inspections every three years. We have successfully completed two such inspections.
